Cezen Denim’s October capsule explores style, comfort, and standing out.

Initially, I wanted the sound to match the coastal setting. The footage was shot on a wharf, which gave me the idea to write a somber, sea-shanty-style pump organ track. I paired it with custom foley made to fit the scene—seagulls, kids playing, distant boat horns, and water licking the wharf pilings.

Then the client sent through a reference: When the Lights Come On by IDLES. They wanted another piece that would take a punchier, much more aggressive turn. Within the hour, I had a new adaptation sent back.

I started by building a heavy bassline on my G&L SB-1, running it straight into my Roland RE-301 Chorus Echo for a saturated tape delay. I layered that with hard-hitting punk drums from our sample library and finished it off with distorted guitar melodies. Writing it in 7/4 gave the whole track an angular, alluring edge that aligned perfectly with the visuals.
